Is there a way to keep your notebook looking tidy, and include printouts?

Maybe this is just me, but I like to have on hand relevant information at a meeting - without lugging the laptop along. I have a standard (for my office) notebook (clothbound, no removeable pages, etc....) BUT I also generally carry diagrams, slides, emails, etc... printed from the laptop to the meeting as well. If the info is relevant, I want to keep these details permanantly in my notebook.

I find myself cutting and pasteing - like a kid all over again. Well, not paste, but taping papers into the notebook. Which I think looks better than having many pages sticking out the side, as of course these printouts are 8.5 x 11 and bigger than the  7 x 10 notebook. I'll even take diagrams or handouts to the copier and reduce them, just to trim and tape into the notebook.

Anybody have a better solution? I'm not looking to go electronic - no evernote, onenote, outlook solution please. I just want to have what I need on hand, and look professional while doing so.

Thanks in advance!

Steve

Steve, You could try the ARC notebooks from staples (or Levenger Circa) that allows you to punch your print-outs and add them in. This would keep your print-outs in your notebook. I use this notebook (http://www.staples.com/M-by-Staples-Arc-Customizable-Leather-Notebook-Sy...) with this hole punch (http://www.staples.com/M-by-Staples-Arc-System-Desktop-Punch-8-Sheet-Cap...). I have tried to find a more elegant solution but so far, no luck. If you find a system that works, please post. I am always on the lookout for a better system. Web

Recently I heard about the Circa Notebooks from Levenger.  If you buy their punch then you can add and remove papers quickly and easily.  I am in Canada and it is cost prohibitive to have them shipped so I looked for an alternative.  A couple weeks ago I purchased the Arc Notebook by Staples, it's almost an exact replica for a 1/4 of the price.  It seems that these notebook solutions might be exactly what you're looking for,

I've used a half-sized Franklin-covey type binder and paper punch for years. I have created templates for the types of pages I need with sections for project and roles (1on1s, projects, etc).

I print documents (meeting agendas, contact lists, reports) in booklet format, then fold, punch, cut, & into the binder.

Combined with a nice pen, if gives a professional appearance (in my mind anyway).

More recently I've been playing with electronic tools for note-taking on tablets.

I recently moved to an Arc Notebook (from Staples or Amazon) - it is great.  There are lots of choices for page styles and sizes, as well as interchangeable covers, ring sizes, dividers, folders, etc.  The pages are perforated so that you can remove and add pages easily, without tearing them.  You can totally personalize it to your lifestyle.

The best part is that I now have my whole life in one place.  I keep my personal calendar and to do list and my work calendar and to do lists all in one portable place.
