Mike,

I have used phpBB-based forums several times, and have always been impressed by the capabilities. How much time and effort do you put into administering it? What sort of hardware and software are required? I ask because I am curious about possibly implementing such a system at my company.

Tom, It's been fairly straight-forward. Assuming you have a standard hosting site with both PHP and MySQL support, the install is fairly straight forward (upload files, run install script, then delete the install directory). After that, admin is straight-forward through a set of easy-to-use screens.

Although it's too early to really tell, I don't think the "admin" time will be a function of phpBB, but rather the volume of participation in the forums themselves. And if the volume is a lot, it'll be a good problem to have. ;-)

I don't think you can go wrong with it.

Mike
