HBR believes Jobs is the at the top.  What do you think?  Is this the Jobs/Apple distortion field or is Steven Jobs as iconic as Drucker?

Fortune magazine also named Jobs the "CEO of the Decade"   Maybe he is.  Regardless, he's certainly successful.

The more interesting question (arguably) is this:  what does Steve Jobs do that makes him so effective?  And what other management practices make Apple such a successful company?

Here's one answer:  he hires great people.  He is famously picky about his management team, and getting hired by him is a rare achievement.

Here's another:  while famous for innovation, he is very focused on costs and supply chain.  It's the operational details that make the innovations affordable and available.
